Western Michigan University is actively involved in the commissioning process for our facilities. The Commissioning activity is in alignment with the Maintenance Service's Division mission statement. While working to provide quality service in an efficient and professional manner to ensure building safety and comfort, and to continually improve and ensure customer satisfaction. Commissioning is thereby viewed as an integral component to our success. To that end, the Physical Plant management and staff have committed themselves to providing the funds and manpower necessary for making Campus Commissioning efforts successful.
Building Commissioning performed in-house is a co-operative group effort by highly skilled technicians and design professionals. Together they form the Campus Commissioning Group, and as a team work to ensure that all building projects, both new and remolded, are built per plans and specifications, that equipment operates as designed and is serviceable.
Commissioning efforts began with the Building Performance Team concept in May of 1996 under the leadership of Gregory G. Roseboom. Those efforts continue today under the guidance of Michael Hodgkinson along with Kyle Lambright as the full time Physical Plant Commissioning Group Members. Together they bring years of technical experience and a concentrated commitment to the campus commissioning efforts. Technical Support Managers, Regional Supervisors and Skilled Trades Staff are enlisted into the effort as needed to make Commissioning success one of our top priorities.
